I Love My Children!

I'm trying to catch up chronologically for the most part, so that's why this post is in here among my Christmas posts.

On December 14, 2012, there was a terrible shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School, in Newtown, Connecticut.  My heart was broken thinking of everyone involved in such a violent event... the victims, the other students nearby, the families involved, the police and rescue officials, etc.  What a tragedy.  Twenty children and six adult staff members were shot and killed before the shooter killed himself.  Most of the children killed were first graders.  At first they were reporting them to be kindergarteners, which made me think especially of Soren all day since he'll be in kindergarten next year.  It just made me realize how blessed I am to have these children in my life, and I need to do all I can to teach them and raise them the best I can because I never know when they may be called to return to their Heavenly Father.  I snuggled in bed with Soren for a long time that night until he fell asleep.  He had no idea what had happened that day, but I just couldn't stop thinking about him and how grateful I am for him, as well as Gabe and Brooke.  I had to take photos of all of them sleeping that night because they are just so cute and peaceful when they sleep.  I'm so thankful to be a mother, and I'm thankful for a loving Savior and Heavenly Father whom I know welcomed those children home that day with open arms.
