A Visit with Santa

In the past, we have visited Santa in Salt Lake when we go up for Christmas, but this year, we decided to stay in Vegas for Christmas, so we needed to find a new place to see Santa.  My friend, Shannon, told me they had gone to Bass Pro Shop where they had a great setup, fun activities for the kids, and a free photo.  Sounded good, so we took her suggestion.  It really was  a lot of fun.  There were shooting games, the camping setup (from the previous post), some remote control trucks, and other fun stuff.  The boys were also very drawn to the 4-wheelers nearby.  So were Sean and I.  One of these days we'll get our budget under control and live in a place where we can afford and use those kinds of things!  It may be a while, but it's fun to think about.
Santa's sleigh was there, so the boys enjoyed climbing on that.  I think they finally noticed Santa was actually there, so we waited for one or two other families and then it was our turn.  Nice not to have a crowd!  The boys both climbed right up on Santa's lap with no fear of the big man this year.  Gabe was kind of quiet, but still cooperated.  Soren couldn't stop touching Santa's beard.  We took some photos and then let Brooke join in on the fun.  She was pretty cooperative as well, but like Soren, had to grab the beard.  Good thing it was real!  Not sure what Gabe told Santa he wanted, but Soren asked for a "springy" meaning, a Slinky.  Easy enough!  That's all he's been asking for ever since he broke the one Norm and Sue brought him for his birthday.

After the visit with Santa, we played with a few more of the toys and then wandered around to look at the fish in the tanks.  That's a fun store, and one day when the boys learn to stop touching everything (or at least when I'm not worried they will break everything they touch), it will be even more fun!
