Where Do They Come Up With This Stuff?

Tonight at dinner, my mom was trying to squeeze in a little Family Home Evening lesson, so she started asking the boys different questions about the Church.  She was asking who Joseph Smith was, and the boys started saying they were Joseph Smith, but then Soren said, "I'm President Eyring" and Gabe said, "and I'm President Uchtdorf."  So I asked Soren, "Ok, if you are President Eyring, what is your calling?" and he said, "I call you to go get me some ice-cream!"  We all just started cracking up!  After some good laughs, we explained a little more about the organization of the Church, but I don't think they got much of it.  We're trying!  But just as a reminder, I'll post their photos in the blog.
(Not sure why they didn't line up, but if I keep messing with the photos, they will disappear.  I mean no disrespect by having President Eyring down a notch!)

President Monson, Prophet

President Uchtdorf, Second Counselor

President Eyring, First Counselor
Speaking of funny things the kids say, a month or so ago, Gabe wanted to do something or eat something, I don't remember exactly, but anyway, he asked my mom if he could do it.  She said, "Well, you'll have to ask your parents about that."  Gabe said, "They will tell me no, so that is why I'm asking you!"  What a stinker!  Another time he was over at our neighbor's house.  He goes over there to get candy from Sister Sharp.  My mom was actually dropping Sister Sharp off after scripture class and saw Gabe there.  She said, "Gabe, does your mommy know you are over here?" He said, "No.  If I ask her if I can come over, she says no, so I just came over without asking."  Apparently, he has subscribed to the philosophy that it's better to ask forgiveness than permission.  I used to think that was a good policy until my kids figured it out!  I love these smart kids!
