Maddie is now two months old. Here are some photos from about week six up to two months, and some info about her two month checkup. The week before her checkup, she was starting to sleep for about six hours each night. That is so great! I do not do well when I'm sleep deprived, so I am lucky to have good babies who sleep well. Let's hope it continues! The doctor seemed to think that was a good thing and said she looks great, other than an umbilical granuloma, which is a part of the belly button that hasn't quite healed. He used a silver nitrate solution on it, and says it should look pretty good in about a week. So hopefully it will be all healed up soon. It doesn't seem to bother her, so that's good.

| She loves to sleep on Mormor's shoulder while Sean and I try to get the rest of the kids to bed. |
Maddie got three shots at her appointment. She cried for a moment, but recovered quickly. She had a little goop in her eyes and a bit of a stuffy nose, so the doctor prescribed some eye drops, which seem to be doing the trick. She is such a good little girl. Heavenly Father sent us a calm one to settle down this crazy (but cute and wonderful) bunch!

| I love this little outfit we got from our neighbor, Kathy Jacobs. But this was the last time Maddie could wear it because she's getting so tall! |

Sean was running errands in the van with Gabe and Brooke, while Soren went into the appointment with Maddie and me. Sean texted me while we were in there to tell me Brooke had thrown up. That poor girl gets so carsick! It was pretty bad. We have thought about a trip to St. George and Vegas this or next month, but if she gets so carsick, that does not sound like a trip I want to make yet. Soren used to get carsick as well, and he still does occasionally, but he's old enough to feel it coming on and he can throw up into a big cup. Brooke isn't quite there yet. Poor kid! Thank goodness Gabe doesn't get carsick, and we'll hope Maddie follows his lead.

We were going to make a storage unit run after the doctor appointment, but decided to just head home and get Brooke and the van all cleaned up. We are moving our stuff into a bigger storage unit so we can get rid of our two smaller ones. We will end up saving quite a bit, and it will be nice to have everything all together. Plus, Sean's been sorting through some stuff and finding things we've been looking for, so that's good. But what does that have to do with the two month checkup? Nothing, really. I have digressed. Back to the stats for our two month old!
Maddie weighed 11.3 pounds, which is the 63rd percentile. She's 23.85 inches long, which is the 93rd percentile. She's got some height! Her head circumference is 15.2 inches, which is only the 42nd percentile. That is totally different from the other kids. We are usually off the chart with big heads. In fact, the other day we tried to put Brooke in a new shirt, but it didn't stretch much and we couldn't get it over her head! We tried several times, but decided getting it off would be even worse, so I guess we'll save it for Maddie... unless she joins the big head club, too! Happy two months, Maddie!

She is just too cute. Baby James had to have the nitrate, too.
ReplyDeleteYes! Come to Vegas! But I understand about the car sickness - Miles got sick a few times on our way to CA and it makes us nervous every time now. Do they make pediatric motion sickness meds? Can't believe how big Maddie is - cool to see the progression in one post :) don't feel bad about being behind on your blog, everything else is more important! :)
