| Muscle man Gabe - his last night as a four year old. |
Gabe had a hard time deciding what he wanted his cake to look like. For a week or two before his birthday, he kept wavering between a Spiderman cake and a pumpkin cake. But finally on his birthday, he decided on a spider web cake. He helped me make the cake in the morning and seemed happy with the result.
During Sean's lunch break, we took Gabe to get his free ice-cream cone from Maggie Moos. He chose the blue cotton candy flavor, but the photo doesn't do the color justice.
For dinner, he chose McDonald's. We had already gone to Red Robin earlier in the week to redeem his free birthday meal there. Red Robin has become a tradition for us and we got free meals for Soren and Sean the month before. Gotta' love those deals! We didn't seem to get any McDonald's photos, but we were there, and the kids had a great time in the playland area.
After dinner, we came home to open presents. It was getting late, so Gabe was willing to wait until the next day for cake, but he would not wait for presents! He opened his presents, was happy with his toys and clothes, and went to bed a happy five year old! Despite his stubborn streak, he's a fun, happy, cute kid, and we love him so much!
| Pretty rare to get us all sitting still for a photo! |
