On the 18th of September, Soren turned six. He woke up with a bit of a cough, and wasn't sure he could make it to school. I told him we could take his birthday treats another day when he felt better, but I guess he didn't like that idea and said he'd be ok. I put him in a warm shower, gave him a little medicine, and he perked right up. We gave him one present before school... a new backpack! He was so excited about it, especially because it had a funny green skull on it. He thought that was pretty cool.
After school, Soren was happy to get a fun card in the mail from Grandma and Grandpa Jensen , along with a roll of money. Thanks, Grandma and Grandpa!
For dinner, we went to Chuck-E-Cheese's. Soren went there once in Las Vegas with some friends, and has been asking to go back ever since. We finally gave in and decided to go. We were pleasantly surprised with what we found. It had recently been remodeled, so everything was nice and clean, all the games worked, and the pizza was decent. The kids had such a great time just running around from game to game, earning tickets, and watching the entertainment. Going on a Thursday evening, it wasn't too crowded, so it was pretty enjoyable for all of us. We stayed until we used up all our game tokens. It was after 9:00 when we left. We tried to convince Soren we could have cake the next day, but he wasn't going for that, so we had some late night cake and presents when we got back. He was so happy to have a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle cake, and was thrilled to get a Ninja Turtle hooded sweatshirt, as well. Not sure why he likes them so much, we don't even let him watch the show, but I guess he likes them because they are green. Anyway, he was a happy boy and I just love seeing that kid smile! Happy birthday to my biggest boy!
