| You can see Brooke enjoyed the cupcakes! |
One of the saddest things I've ever seen happened when we got home from the graduation celebration. Gabe jumped out of the van and was not holding onto his balloon. The balloon was carried away into the air before we knew what was happening. Brooke's balloon was also carried away. She just stood there watching the balloons and seemed amazed at how high they were going. Gabe, on the other hand, was beside himself and couldn't stop crying. I felt so bad that he had lost his balloon. He was so sad, and it just broke my heart. How could a stinkin' balloon create such sadness? For a four year old, it was very traumatic. He went in and flopped down on the couch and just kept crying. Soren felt bad for him and went over and hugged him and said he was sorry about his balloon. That was the sweetest thing. Sean told Gabe we could get him another balloon later, but that didn't really calm him down. We put on a show for him to watch because that's how he says he can feel better (TV therapy) and finally, I think he was all cried out. We never ended up getting him another balloon, because he got over it, but I think he learned about helium balloons and holding on to them when there isn't a ceiling to catch them!
P.S. While we're on the preschool topic, the boys had some fun field trips with their class. I was able to go to a few of them. In April, they went to Tracy Aviary, so here are some pics from that day, mostly of the pretty posing peacock.
