Two Nights of Contractions

Last night and the night before I woke up and was having contractions.  Didn't seem serious enough to go to the hospital, but I thought about it.  Last night they seemed a little more consistent than the first night, but after packing a bag for the hospital and moving around a little bit, things seemed to calm down again.  Why do our last two babies like to play tricks on us?  Can't they just wait until we're scheduled like Soren and Gabe did?  Ha ha.  Whenever this little one comes will be great, but I'm really hoping my water doesn't break again.  That experience once with Brooke was enough!  Getting anxious to meet this little one, however.

In the meantime, the boys and Brooke have colds and I really hope they can get over them soon.  We don't want everyone sick, especially with a new baby in the house!  Here are some things the kids have been up to lately...

The other day I was in the shower, Sean was at a meeting or something, and Mom had gone somewhere, too.  The kids were downstairs playing, or at least I thought they were, but Brooke had opened the gate on the stairs and pushed a stool over to the cereal cupboard and dumped out the bag of Cinnamon Toast Crunch.  Soren found her first and came to tell me.  When we got back upstairs, he dove in and started eating.  He said, "Free Cinnamon Toast Crunch!"  and then went to tell Gabe.  Gabe came up and climbed onto the stool and watched for a while.  Then he said, "I like mine in a bowl, not from the floor."  I guess he's a little more refined than Soren and Brooke.  I let them eat some off the floor (yes, I did) for a while, and then we cleaned the rest up.  Whenever the kids get into something like that, Sean loves to say, "And we're having one more!"  Good thing we love these kids, and good thing they're cute! :)

Today, Brooke had a stinky diaper.  I told her it was time to change her diaper and she ran off.  We found her hiding under the couch cushions.  That's her go-to hideout.  Nice try, little girl, but we found you!

  1. Every night for a week it seemed I would have contractions with my fourth, and they would build then drift away. So annoying!

  3. I love the couch hideout - hilarious! I am NOT looking forward to potty training another kiddo. I think I will wait until Penelope does it herself... :) Hope things are going well with you guys.
