I just finished this post (along with a few others so I can be caught up before our Spring break trip to Salt Lake) and went upstairs to get Brooke from her nap. This is what I found. She was standing!!!! So this is news hot off the press. Brooke has pulled herself up to a standing position in her crib! Look out, she'll be toddling before we know it!
Next week, Brooke will be 9 months old. She's getting so busy. And loud! She can be chatty saying mamamama or dadadadada, and she can squeal louder than someone that small should be able! This past week she has really been working on crawling and getting mobile. She doesn't stay in the same place for very long. She pulls herself up onto her knees using chairs, big toys, or other furniture, so she can see what she might like to get into. Her favorite places are under the piano bench and under the kitchen table. She is so wiggly during diaper and clothing changes. Not like diaper changing was fun before, but it's really getting tiring now! She still doesn't have much hair, and only has her two bottom teeth. She's eating avocados, bananas, graham crackers, club crackers, and bread, along with baby food. Oh, and she had a couple Nilla Wafers. :) She likes to lie down on her back and suck her toes. She's so much fun! I love to see her big smile each morning. Lately she's just been playing in her crib quietly until we go in to get her up for the day. We walk into her room and she just grins. What a sweetheart!
