Gabe Turns Three!

Two days before Halloween, Gabe had his birthday.  His request was a white cake with green frosting, which was a lot easier than Soren's Superman cake.  Gabe was so excited and kept asking if it was time for green cake yet.  I made the batter and baked it while Soren was at school, and the whole time Gabe kept asking, "Is it cake time yet?  Is it finished?  Is my green cake ready?"  This kid has a sweet tooth and always wants treats!

We didn't do a big party, just played together a bit during the day, and when Sean came home, he and the boys decorated for Halloween.  Then we had dinner (Gabe requested quesadillas), cake, and presents that evening.  We had a fun visit from my cousin, Norm, and his wife, Sue.  They were in town from Arizona, so they got to join in on the green cake, and they even brought some trucks for Gabe, and a Slinky for Soren.  They are teriffic!  The boys ran all around the house, each one holding an end of the Slinky, stretching it out and tangling it up.  Gabe kept us entertained by letting us know when something wasn't funny.  Not sure why he was doing it, but every once in a while, someone would say or do something and Gabe would matter-of-factly say, "That's not funny."  Well, that kid IS funny.  We're so lucky to have him, along with Soren and Brooke.  What fun these kids are!  Thanks for celebrating with us, Norm and Sue!  And happy birthday to my little three year old, Gabe Magnus!  We love you, Buddy!

Poor Sean with his sunburned, fever-blistered head!

Yay! Green cake!

Norm and Sue, as Norm untangles the Slinky for about the tenth time!

The next day, Gabe took a nap with his new sword.  Where are my pics of him opening presents? I guess my battery ran out.
