Dixie Days Rodeo

Oops!  I had one more item to catch up on!  On Sept. 15th, we went up to St. George for the Dixie Days Rodeo.  Grandma Peggy has been wanting us to come up for it each year, so this time we finally made it.  Good thing we didn't realize it was the day of the BYU/Utah football game when she asked us, or we would have stayed home!  Gabe and Brooke wore their Utah gear, anyway.

We spent some time in St. George during the day.  Sean and I got to sneak away for a while to do some shopping for Soren's birthday while the boys and Brooke had fun playing with Kelby and Abie at Grandma's and Grandpa's.  When we got back we were able to visit with Uncle Rick and Aunt Edie while we had some dinner and then it was time to head over to the rodeo.

The kids enjoyed seeing the horses and bulls, and it was fun for them to get to spend more time with Grandma, Grandpa, Abie, and Kelby.  Sean kept trying to get updates on the football game.  We were hoping the Utes could pull it out!  The rodeo was fun.  Sean and I enjoy rodeos, but I don't think the boys had a long enough attention span for it.  In fact, Gabe fell asleep on the hard concrete bleachers!  Brooke slept through most of it as well, which was probably good.  On the way home, we were glad to be able to listen to the last quarter of the game.  What an exciting finish... all three times!  There was confusion at the end of the game and the Ute fans swarmed the field a few times before it was actually over, but we were glad they came out victorious!  Go Utes!  Thanks for having us up, Grandma and Grandpa!

Gabe is getting sleepy already!

That's a lot of horses!
