Brooke's Baby Blessing

On Sunday, September 2, Sean gave Brooke her baby blessing in church.  He gave her the full name of Brooke Louise Jensen.  I always wonder if he's going to slip in a different name than planned, but so far he's stuck with the names we decided on.  We kept joking when Soren and Gabe were born that he was going to name them Thor, and with Brooke, he was going to name her Xena Warrior Princess.  But Brooke Louise it is!  He gave her a beautiful blessing which included the following:
  • A love of the Savior and Heavenly Father
  • To be faithful and humble and have a sensitivity to the Spirit to work through life and make good decisions
  • A strong, healthy body
  • A sense of humor, beautiful smile, and contagious laughter
  • Patience and a calming influence (we all need that with these busy boys in the family)
  • Desire to serve and love others and make them feel good
  • A love of athletics, arts, music, knowledge, and education
  • To be able to be baptized and receive the Holy Ghost
  • To be happy
  • To meet a worthy man who can marry her in the temple and start a family
I'm so thankful for Sean and his love for his family and the Savior.  I'm so glad he holds the Priesthood and can bless our children and our family.  I love you, Sean!  And I appreciate good friends and family who were also able to take part in the blessing.  They included David Watkins (my brother), Jim Jensen (Sean's dad), Paul Jensen (Sean's uncle), Gus Gledhill (long time friend of Sean's), Karrl Saxon (father of one of Sean's good friends growing up), Ian Brown (friend and former next door neighbor from our old house), Gary Krausman (friend of my family and one of my "honorary dads" when I moved to Vegas), Mark Turner and Chip Schwarze (friends and current ward members), David Holland, Gary Goon, and Brent Davis (our current Bishopric).

I wish I had done a better job at taking some group photos, but I'm not that organized.  I couldn't even round up my own kids for a family picture!  Funny that my brother and sister and their families avoided the camera as well.  Oh well, I'll get them in another post!  Fortunately, my mom wandered around with my camera and got some random shots, and I got a few others, so here is what we have.  It was great to have so many family members and friends there at church and at the house afterwards to share this day with us.  Whether they traveled from various parts of Utah or various parts of Las Vegas, it was great to be surrounded by loved ones.  I'm overwhelmed at how kind, supportive, and generous people are to us.  Thanks, friends and family.  We love you!

Happy Brooke

No, she didn't have two different dresses, this was just the part that went over the top.  I don't understand girly clothes! :)
