On September 8th we went to the UNLV football game against Northern Arizona University. We wanted to go, but I felt lousy all day. We kept going back and forth on whether to go or not. Should we go? Should we get a babysitter? Should we take the kids? Should I stay home with the kids and Sean goes with the Gledhills? I finally decided I didn't want to go, so I was going to stay with the kids, but at the last minute (and after a few doses of Immodium), I decided to go. It was too late to get the babysitter, so we packed up the kids and took them to the game.
Even though this picture doesn't look like it, they were excited to see the stadium and go in and sit on the bleachers. Gabe kept jumping up and down and saying "Go Rebels!"
This was they boys' first opportunity to try some cotton candy. Soren wasn't a fan, but Gabe liked it! He and I ate most of it ourselves.
The boys enjoyed climbing around on the bleachers, but before the end of the first half, they were already bored with the game, so fortunately we took an IPad and they were able to watch Tom and Jerry. Soren tried to tell everyone in the stadium to be quiet so he could hear the show, but that didn't work too well. Guess we'd better get some earphones. But they were entertained by the show and Sean and I were able to enjoy the game. Oh, and the chicken strips and fries and Gatorade kept them busy as well. Soren only had to make one trip to the potty, and Sean was kind enough to take him, so I never had to move. After a day of not feeling great, it was a pretty relaxing evening.
Brooke did really well. She got kind of hot and restless in the carseat, so I took her out and held her most of the time, and she was happy to just sit on my lap. She took a bottle of formula in the third quarter and we ended up leaving early to avoid the traffic. The Rebels led 14-0 at halftime, but unfortunately ended up getting beat 17-14. Poor Rebs! But it was a fun little family outing. Not sure we'll take the whole crew to another game too soon, but we'll see. As long as we take the IPad, we'll probably be ok! The boys said they had fun and on the way out, Gabe said, "That was fun to eat chicken!" I guess it must have been good chicken and fun to eat on the bleachers. Who cares about the game, the chicken was good! Better luck to the Rebels for the rest of the season (except for this week when they will have to lose to Utah State)! Sean and I are looking forward to attending that game this Saturday in Logan. Should be fun!
