My mom (the kids call her Mor mor, which is Swedish and Danish for Mother's Mother) was here for the first two weeks of Brooke's life, and boy did that time fly! We had a great time together. She enjoyed being around the baby, and she learned that our boys are very busy and keep us on our toes! But she was great and played with them on the trampoline, sang songs, played the piano, and chased them (or was chased by them) around the house. She also watched lots of "Monkey (Curious) George" with them, as it was over 100 degrees every day she was here, and not so pleasant outside.
It was great to have Mom here to help with the baby, the boys, and the general upkeep of the house. What would we do without our mothers? I thought I would be a big wreck after she left, but even though we miss her and it was much easier with her here, we are surviving and actually doing ok! But we are looking forward to seeing her again soon when we go up to Utah! Here are some other photos of those first two weeks with Brooke.

We invited our friends, the Hillers, over for the Fourth of July to BBQ and light Fireworks. Shannon is one of my "Power Squad" friends, and she and Matt also have three children, Claire, Miles, and Penelope. Their youngest is not even two months older than Brooke, so we got matching shirts for the baby girls and had a little photo shoot. Brooke wasn't in her most cooperative mood, as you will see, but the photos are cute anyway! The kids had fun playing with each other and with Mom, and the fireworks were a big hit! Some of them were so loud, but Brooke pretty much slept through the excitement. I'm so glad she can sleep through noise, because her silly brothers are LOUD!!!

It was tough to see Mom go after two weeks, but I think she was ready for some peace and quiet, even though she said she had a great time and would even come back if we needed her help! Just enjoy the quiet while you can, Mom, because we'll be visiting your house soon!

| Nice smiles, boys. I guess they're sad to see Mor mor go! |
We miss Mor Mor too! Miles asked about her the other day - Gabe's Grandma?? :) Let's plan another BBQ soon.
