Last weekend was Mothers Day weekend. We had visits from Uncle Jeremy and Grandma and Grandpa Jensen. Jeremy brought the boys some fun toys from the new Avengers movie. They love playing with their Incredible Hulk action figures and their masks of the Hulk, Captain America, and Iron Man!
Grandma and Grandpa Jensen spent the night on Friday. We enjoyed some time all together, but Sean and I also enjoyed being able to run some errands Friday and Saturday while the boys were entertaining and being entertained by Grandma and Grandpa. Saturday we went to BJ's, which is one of our favorite restaurants, for a pre-Mothers Day meal. Soren has been doing well wearing underwear the past week and for the first time, I took a chance on him wearing underwear out of the house instead of a diaper or a pullup. He did great and kept dry the whole time! The boys enjoyed spending time with their Grandparents, and we were glad Grandpa could tune up our bikes for us. Now we just need to get our lazy bums out there and ride them! It might have to wait until after the baby arrives, however, at least for me!
Mothers Day was great, as it was the first time I had my own child singing in Sacrament Meeting with the Primary. Hearing the Primary children sing has always been my favorite part about Mothers Day, and now to have Soren singing with them makes it even better! I'm the music leader in Primary, so I got to lead them in singing, "My Mother Dear." It was fun to see Soren up there with the group, even if he just stood there and didn't sing. I'm just glad he didn't try to run all over the stand or get up to the microphone! Sean grilled steaks and veggies for dinner and it was delicious! Our friends, the Mitchells, came over for dinner, so the kids all got to play and we had fun visiting. I'm lucky to have such a wonderful, caring husband, and we are blessed with such cute kids! Uncle Jeremy brought over some necklaces for the boys to give to me, but they decided they would rather wear them instead, as you can see in the photo. Being a mother is great! And let me just say how thankful I am to my own wonderful mother for all she has taught me, and all she continues to do to set such a great example. Thank you also to Sean's mom for raising such a loving, thoughtful son!
Monday we had our second official ultrasound of the baby. They gave us some views with the standard ultrasound, but surprised us with some of the 3D images as well. We got to see she looks like her brothers with a big head, chubby cheeks, and big lips! At the first ultrasound a couple of months ago, she measured in at the 50th percentile, and they didn't think she would be nearly as big as the boys were. Well, we were surprised yesterday to find out she is now in the 97th percentile, and could be even bigger than the boys were! Soren was 9.6 pounds and Gabe was 9.1, so she could be a big baby! They estimate she is already at about 5 lbs 10 oz. I even ran out of vitamins for a couple weeks so I thought she would stay small, but I guess not! The original due date was July 6, but this ultrasound gave a due date of June 17. That is almost 3 weeks ahead of schedule! Dr. Swainston said they won't deliver a baby (planned, anyway) until a week before the due date, so it now looks like we will plan on June 29 for baby Brooke's arrival. We hope she will wait that long as Sean will be in San Diego for a conference the 23-27. Let's hope she doesn't try to exit the womb on her own early schedule! I was kind of hoping to have her in July so that we could have our family birthdays in four consecutive months from July to October, but I am not getting any smaller, and it's not getting any cooler in Vegas, so the earlier date is sounding better and better. The 29th will work out well because Gabe's birthday is the 29th of October, so we'll have some consistency in the number 29.
While Sean and I were at the doctor's office, the boys played at the Mitchell's house with their buddy, Spencer. When we got back, we all went over to swim at the McCracken's house (they are our friends from the ward who just live a few houses away). When we came home, the boys agreed to eat some muffins for lunch, but the excitement must have been too much for Gabe. Sean looked over at the table wondering what Gabe was up to. He found him with crumbs all over, sleeping with his feet on the floor and his body on the chair. This kid can sleep in some interesting spots. We have also found him napping on the stairs two or three times! What a funny boy!

wow! that is way earlier than expected! and i didnt realize you had her name already. i like it!!
